The purpose of iCAPs is to engage these stakeholders in discourse concerning the gap between the skills needed in the industry and the skills students learn during their academic programs, and review current and relevant information to align career pathway training for ICT occupations in three main areas: 1) Information Support and Services, 2) Software and Systems Development, and 3) Design, Visual and Media Arts. The new focus for this year is Entrepreneurship: How to Effectively Build Your Business. This year Los Angeles City College will launch iCAPs 2.0. The institute will focus on improving our Business and Finance industry sector with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and strengthening collaborations between business, industry and community colleges to support the growth of startups, and existing businesses in the region.
