The 28 Community Colleges in Los Angeles and Orange Counties are well structured for effective regional leadership, performance outcomes and communication that align with the "Strong Workforce Program” and the "Vision for Success" initiatives. The priority and emerging sectors were selected by the regional consortium in creating the 4-year regional plans.

What is the role of the Regional Directors of Employer Engagement?

  1. Implementing activities and achieving outcomes for the designated sector
  2. Working with colleges in the designated region to strengthen connections between career education and business and industry
  3. Developing partnerships with business and industry
  4. Working closely with key talent including Regional Chairs, Centers of Excellence, Technical Assistance Providers, Pathway Coordinators, Statewide Directors, and other Regional Directors of Employer Engagement
  5. Collaborating and coordinating articulation agreements with ROPs, high schools
  6. Strategizing on regional funding priorities based on the needs of business and industry
